The disciplined pursuit of the essential is what distinguishes effective from the ineffective leaders. I’ve said the following to soooo many of my clients… “You must take time to make time!” In other words, to create more time in your day you must first spend time thinking about time and how you spend it. You must regularly re-visit how you are spending your time. Get off the “treadmill” of life long enough to step back and look at what you NEED to be focusing on vs. bouncing around from one shiny object to another. What creates success is focusing on the significant few vs. the trivial many. Watch this video by Greg McKeown, author of “Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less”, as he talks about these important time management concepts.
