“I literally can’t remember a positive thing about you!” Has this ever happened to you when fighting with your spouse or close family member? It’s as though our brain drops its memory function altogether. This is a common occurrence during intense conflict… often after we’ve been triggered by something someone says.

As we make our annual holiday preparations let’s also do a little self preparation getting ready for the conflict that will more than likely occur with those around us. Especially, if you will be engaging with family members with views very different than yours on…. well, you know… just about any hot topic from the year 2020.

The following HBR article by Diane Musho Hamilton does a great job of compiling and articulating the current wisdom on identifying and dealing with the conflict we will inevitably have this season.

Good luck!
